Callaway Steelhead XR Launch

Last week Callaway golf launched a new exciting range of irons and hybrids called the Steelhead XR. If you have played Callaway products over the years you may notice some similarities to their famous X12, X14 and X16 range of irons which all carried the steelhead name. This latest offering from Callaway offers their amazing 360 cup face technology which offers improved forgiveness while producing phenomenal distance, higher launch and better feel thanks to a deep set bar of steel infused with soft urethane to dampen vibrations (see pictures below), improved control and trajectory thanks to the positioning of the centre of gravity making the long irons launch high for improved distance while the shorter iron produce a more penetrating controllable flight for scoring. 

   

These irons really do look great and instantly inspire confidence at address. We will be getting a couple of demo irons in soon so if you would be interested in trying these superb irons please come and let us know.

Pro Shop Competition Results

Last Saturday we ran a Pro Shop stableford and below you can see the results. Thank you to all the members who continue to support our Pro Shop competitions and we will organise more in the near future.

What's coming up in September here at the Pro Shop  

1: Callaway Steelhead XR iron launch 

In early September we expect to receive our Callaway Steelhead XR irons so if you are interested in trying these please let us know and we can contact you directly when they arrive.  

2: Captain & Pro Challenge match  

On Sunday 18th Men's Captain Alan Todd and I will be taking on any members who wish to play in our Captain Pro challenge. This is a fun 4BBB competition which gives you chance to compete against us in a roll up and play basis. There will be prizes for all pairs who beat the Captain and Pro's score and the highest score will be the main prize winners.   

3: Putter fitting day - 10th September  

On Saturday the 10th of September we will be on hand to fit you for the correct putter. Did you know there are three different types of putting stroke and certain putters work best dependant on your stroke type? We see so many golfers who have an incorrect putter for their stroke type and as a result they are holding themselves back. If you would like to book a fitting with one of us please call us on 01353 663317.   

4: New members evening - FREE coaching from Andrew and Paul  

On Monday 5th of September the golf club have organised a new members evening. Part of this evening includes FREE coaching from Paul and I on the practice ground giving new members a taste of what we offer here at the golf club and giving them chance to meet other members, staff and committee members. If you are a new member and would like to join us on the day please email the office or call Mark or Gracie to confirm your attendance.   

5: Stop Slicing Master class - Thursday 22nd September  

On Thursday 22nd of September Paul has organized a stop slicing master class for any members who wishes to attend. This 90 minute master class will once and for all give you the understanding of what causes a slice and more importantly how to correct these faults to hit the ball longer and straighter than ever before. The master class will run from 10:00 until 11:30 with coffee in the clubhouse after. The cost is just £25 which is a small price to pay to have the knowledge and understanding of how to eliminate your slice for good and play the best golf of your life. 6: FREE trial of a Motocaddy trolley for 18 holes  

Throughout the month of September we will be offering a FREE trial of a Motocaddy electric trolley for anyone who is seriously considering purchasing one.
