Coaching Corner - Practice with a purpose 

As you know I'm a great believer in practicing, however, I'm often on the practice ground and see members hitting ball after ball with the same club at the same target. Next time you are on the range why don't you try a tour proven method of practice by breaking your session down. 

Firstly, start your practice by working on technique aiming at one target. 

After this move onto random practice where you use a different club each time aiming at different targets. Lastly, create a competitive environment by aiming at a target and trying to get a certain number of balls within a certain distance i.e. try to hit three consecutive shots within 10 yards of your target however if you miss you must start again. 

By adding these elements to your practice, you will improve faster and be better prepared when heading out onto the golf course. So why not give this a try over the winter and see if this style of practice can improve your competitive golf for the 2017 season.
