It’s official: golf is good for you

There's been a lot of focus on Public Health England’s One You campaign in the media over the past week, which challenges each person to complete just 10 minutes of continuous brisk walking per day to help boost their health and reduce the risk of early death by 15%.

At the same time, a unique study assessing the benefits of golf on health was announced that, when combined with the above campaign, makes interesting reading. The project – the most comprehensive study on golf and health to date – found improvements in life expectancy, a decreased risk of more than 40 major chronic diseases, as well as positive impacts on cholesterol, body composition and mental health.

So, what's the take home message from all of this? Keep playing golf!

Over recent months, Paul, Jamie and myself have been busy helping members improve their golf with some lessons. Golf, like any sport can vary from day to day and trying to become a better golfer is something we all strive for. It’s been great having so many members coming to see us and putting their trust in our abilities to help improve their game and increase their enjoyment. Below you can see some examples of before and after pictures with the great improvements that these individuals have made.

If you would like to play better golf we use video analysis for all lessons, so we can show you exactly what is holding you back and how best to improve your game as quickly as possible. These videos can then be emailed to you so you always have a copy and know exactly what you need to practice. The future is bright

The summer holidays are coming to an end so this coming Saturday (2nd September) will be the final Junior group coaching run by my assistants Paul and Jamie until April next year.
