After 3 years of service the golf club said farewell to General Manger Tom Munt last Thursday. Tom has now moved to Saffron Walden Golf Club where he will be Golf Club Manager. I would like to wish him all the best in his new job and I'm sure lots of members will catch up with him when playing at Saffron Walden.

After a rigorous recruitment exercise and with due diligence the successful applicant who will become our new General Manager is Lisa Charlton. As you may know Lisa worked here some five years ago as Mike Hoare's assistant and later moved on to become manager at Brampton Park Golf Club. I would like to congratulate Lisa on becoming our new General Manager and welcome her back to Ely City Golf Club.

Captains Jumpers 

Calling all Captains both past and present, I will be putting together an order to Glenmuir for some Club Crested sweaters and shirts over the next few weeks that can be personalised with your year of office.

If I can get enough interest I will be able to get your year of captaincy personalised and embroidered at no extra cost. Remember that even if your current sweater is OK but just fancy a change there are many other styles of garment and colours other than the club navy and white available.

Ladies Group Coaching

CALLING ALL LADIES WHO WANT TO IMPROVE THEIR GOLF

Newmarket Pro Am

Last week I played in a Cambs and Beds PGA Pro-am with men's Captain Dave Woods, Mark Lemmon and Charlie Rains held at Newmarket Golf Club. It was a great day and it was nice to finish first after a 3 under par round of 69. If you would like to play in a Pro Am with me please let me know as I'm always keen to have Ely City members in my team.
