Seniors Open Championship
As mentioned in last weeks newsletter I qualified to play in the Seniors Open at Sunningdale. Unfortunately I had a couple of 77's and missed the cut. This is now the 3rd Major I've played in and even though I missed the cut I felt I still learned so much playing and being around all those great champions.
Sitting next to Tom Watson in the locker room changing our shoes to have lunch with Brad Faxon and Jerry Pate is something I'll never forget. I played my practice rounds with David Frost and I asked him so many questions on the way round and got a fantastic insight into the Seniors Tour. Overall I had a fantastic time and I love playing in these events representing Ely City Golf Club at the highest level.
I would like to thank all the Ely members and my friends who came down to support me during the event, it was much appreciated. Here are some pictures from my time in the Seniors Open Championship.
The Grove Pro Am
On Monday I took three Ely Members to the Grove Pro Am near Watford my team was Mike Saxby, Will Fordham and Steve Hudson. The picture shows use on the first tee just before we teed off. The team finished on level par and I was in 5th place with 73 one over. The Grove is probably the best condition golf course in the country and well worth a visit.

PING launches two new iron ranges
Yesterday was the official launch of the new PING i irons and the new GMax iron range. These irons are aimed at different golfers with the GMax iron offering unbelievable distance with a high trajectory for those firm greens, while the new I series irons are a players iron that any level of golfer can use. This is thanks to the progressive blade length design and a new 431 stainless steel to give even softer feel and improve the strength to weight ratio.
We will be receiving demo irons in the coming days so if you want to come try these amazing new clubs please get in touch and we will be happy to help.
