Watching the Masters last week really lets you know the golf season is under way. It was great to see Bubba hit drives that were carrying over 300 yards and still finding the fairway. By the way it was thanks to the PING G25 driver that allowed Bubba to hit such amazing tee shots and we have them in stock here at the Pro Shop.

I'm not saying that you will start carrying your tee shots as far as Bubba but we do have a selection of PING drivers available for you to try and see for yourself just how good these clubs are. 

 

First event on the PGA East Region for 2014

Also last week I had the pleasure of playing Hunstanton and Kings Lynn with Ely City Vice Captain Mick Munnelly in the first event on the PGA East Region for 2014. We played foursomes on the first day around Hunstanton and tied for the lead with a score of 40 points and then on the second day we played fourball better ball at Kings Lynn. After 9 holes we had 21 points and were going along nicely but I said to Mick we need to push on as I didn't think we had enough points. 

Well I just lit the blue touch paper and stood back as I watched Mick birdie the 10th with a shot and also the 13th with a shot. As a result we got 27 points on the back nine and ended up with 48 in total and won the event by 6 points.

Ladies rules evening

On Thursday the Ladies held a rules evening, after watching a R&A DVD I was asked to answer and rules questions from the attending ladies. The ladies were very kind to me and I didn't get any really difficult questions. We will be having a course walk soon so we can discuss rules that come up on the course, if this is something that would interest you watch this space as I will let you know the date soon.
