Lester Potter

It is with great sadness that the news came to us of the passing of Ely City member Lester Potter aged just 55. Lester had been a member of the golf club since 1995 and was an incredibly popular character. Lester always came into the shop with a smile on his face and a positive word for all of us. He was a very active member here at the club and helped raise lots of money for people less fortunate than himself.

When a tragedy like this happens it makes me reflect on how precious life really is. I think we should realise just how lucky we all are to be able to come out and play golf and enjoy life. Lester will be missed by all of us here in the pro shop and our thoughts go out to his family during this difficult time.

Starting this Saturday the 26th of April from 10:00 till 11:00 we will be running junior group lessons for anyone under the age of 18, members and non members. Every week we will introduce a new element of the swing/game and all participants will be enrolled onto our junior development program. Each session runs for 1 hour and is just £8 with at least 1 PGA Professional coaching. If you would like to find out more please call us in the Pro Shop on 01353 663317.

Ely City Pro-Am on Friday the 22nd of August

The Ely City Pro-Am will be taking place on Friday the 22nd of August. The Pro-Am gives you the chance to play with a top East Region PGA professional and use this opportunity to entertain your clients/guests. 

The Pro-Am also offers you the ability to promote your brand or company through sponsorship. This year we will be offering sponsorship from just £100 a hole. If you would like to advertise your company or services at the Pro-Am, please contact me and tell me which hole you would like to sponsor.

The Pro-Am is a great day starting with coffee and bacon rolls upon arrival. Then you will be playing 18 holes with a PGA Professional before ending the day with a two course meal followed by the prize giving.
