Last Saturday we were involved in two sessions of group coaching. In the morning Paul and Jamie had 11 juniors join in the group coaching that's open to members and non members. We introduce golf to the juniors in a fun and easy way in the hope that they will want to take the game up and eventually become junior members here at the golf club. If you know of any juniors who may wish to come along be it sons, daughters, nieces, nephews or friends please tell them about these coaching sessions and hopefully we can get more juniors at the golf club.

In the afternoon Jamie and I gave the first coaching session to our new beginner ladies for 2014. We had 21 ladies join in the fun and it was great to see their enthusiasm. The ladies coaching sessions will run for 7 weeks from 3 till 4 every Saturday so we will be taking up the entire practice ground during this time. On Monday I had the pleasure of playing in a Pro-Am at Hendon Golf Club. After a round of level par 70 I ended up in fifth place. I was pleased to have finished the way I did as after 10 holes I was 3 over par. My last 8 holes consisted of 5 pars and 3 birdies, one of which came at the last hole. It shows how important it is not to give up after a bad start as a few good holes can make all the difference to your round in the end.
