Combating 1st tee nerves
I'm pretty sure almost all of you who read my newsletter will have stood on the 1st tee at some point at felt nervous about your first shot.
Trust me you are not alone, golfers of all abilities get this same feeling. The difference lies though in how you deal with that feeling and how best to control it. Below are two key factors in which I believe can help you beat 1st tee nerves.
1 - Control Your Breathing
Something overlooked by many golfers is the importance of breathing while preparing to hit a shot on the course. By thinking about your breathing you take your focus away from the nervousness and just focus on slow deep breathes. Next time you are on the course try this, it really can help.
2 - Stick to your routine or develop one
Most of us have seen the world's best golfers going through a pre shot routine before every shot. Having a pre shot routine once again takes your focus away from the nerves you may be feeling and instead helps you concentrate on the shot in hand.
If you don't have a pre shot routine I highly recommend you work on one as this won't only help 1st tee nerves but it will also increase your chances of hitting more good shots during your round.
Hopefully these tips will help you combat 1st tee nerves and improve your game. If you would like to find out more about pre shot routines or how golf psychology can improve your game come and speak to us in the pro shop or get in touch here.
Coming soon to the Pro Shop - Callaway Mack Daddy 3 wedges
If you are considering upgrading your wedges then the Callaway Mack Daddy 3 really should be on your list.
These wedges are superb and come in three different grind options and two different finishes, as seen above. Some of the worlds elite trust these wedges to perform in the most testing conditions including Phil Mickleson, Henrik Stenson, Danny Willett, Patrick Reed and many more.
These wedges should hopefully be with us in the next two weeks so keep an eye out in the Pro Shop.
He's back... or is he...
Despite all the excitement Tiger Woods will now not be returning to the PGA tour at the Safeway Open in California this weekend.
Tiger released a statement which read, "My health is good and I feel strong, but my game is vulnerable and not where it needs to be".
The 14 time major champion is now planning a return in early December. He remains only 3 PGA tour victories behind Sam Snead's record of 82. So what do you think? Will Tiger return to his former glory and be as dominant as he once was? Or has the game moved on in the hands of young guns like Rory, Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed?
Click here to let us know whether you think Tiger will ever return to winning ways on tour.
