The season begins now

I always see the Masters as the start of the golfing season here in the UK. Unfortunately, the recent heavy rain doesn’t make it feel like Spring but hopefully we will be turning that corner as warmer weather is forecast for next week.

The start of the season is an ideal time to come and speak to us about your golf and discuss what we can do to help you improve. Maybe a new set of grips will bring your clubs back to life, every considered having a golf ball fitting to improve your performance on the course?

Callaway Demo Day

On Tuesday Callaway came along to Ely for our first demo day with them in 2018.

It’s safe to say the Rogue range of clubs went down a storm and some of the distance increases were amazing. We will be organising another Callaway day later this year so if you would like to try their latest offerings watch this space for more information.

PXG Demo Day – Cancelled

Unfortunately, due to a lack of interest we have now had to cancel our PXG Demo Day. We will see if we can schedule another date in the diary for later in the year. If you are considering trying PXG or having a PXG fitting please come and speak to us as we can arrange fittings at their centre in Sunningdale.

Junior news

Junior Group coaching – starts this Saturday 14th April

On Saturday the 14th of April we will be starting our very popular Junior group coaching. Our junior coaching so grown over the years and continues to go from strength to strength. The coaching sessions run from 10:00 until 11:00 and are open all juniors including non-members. Equipment can be provided if required so if you know a junior who may want to come along and give golf a try this is the perfect opportunity. Junior coaching costs £8 per session and we will cover all aspects of the game over the spring/summer months. If you have family members or friends who may be interested in this, please let them know as we want to grow golf as much as possible in Ely and these type of group lessons are perfect for this. If you would like more information, please contact us.

Recently, you may have seen a few requests in our weekly emails asking you to create your golfing profile or confirm your email address for GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) purposes.

As you might be aware, GDPR is new legislation coming into effect at the end of May, so we are taking the opportunity now to update your details. Not only does this give us the chance to confirm that we have your correct information, but it also provides us with the ability to personalise your weekly emails to suit your golfing preferences. If you have not yet updated your details, please do so now. It will take you less than a minute.

Ely City Golf Club – PGA PRO AM – TUESDAY 21st AUGUST

Our annual PGA Pro Am will be taking place on Tuesday 21st August. Pro Am's are great days for everyone involved and with superb prizes from leading brand like Ping really make this an event not to be missed. Team entries are now open and is on a first come first serve basis. Team entry fee is £240 (£80PP) for members and £260 for non-members which includes Bacon Roll and coffee upon arrival, 18 holes with a PGA Professional plus a chance to win top prizes and a two-course meal with your team professional after your round.
