A Golf holiday not to be missed – Pestana Vila Sol - November 2018

Due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to change the venue for our golf holiday. After careful consideration Paul and I have now decided to go to the superb 5* resort at Vila Sol in Portugal from Monday 12th November until Friday 16th November 2018. Vila Sol is a superb resort well known for its outstanding 5* service and facilities. Vila Sol has three nine-hole loops which were chosen to host the PGA European Tour Portuguese Open in 1992 & 1993, so you know the course will be of the highest quality.

Below you can see a breakdown of what this golf holiday includes:

12th – 16th November 2018
4 Nights B&B at the 5* Vila Sol Resort
3 rounds of golf at Vila Sol
2 hours private use of the range including balls each day
Daily Coaching from Paul and myself including playing golf with us
Airport transfers

Vila Sol also has top of the range leisure facilities on offer which include an outdoor heated swimming pool and two tennis courts. The hotel boasts two restaurants, the Green Pines and L’Olive Restaurant, both of which offer great Mediterranean cuisine. The excellent location means you are only five minutes away from the international marina in Vilamoura which has a number of bars and restaurants to enjoy.

Our aim of this trip is to give you the best experience possible while at Vila Sol. We will be putting on daily coaching to help you play better golf and we will also play at least nine holes with you during your holiday, so we can give you on course instruction and advice.

TaylorMade Demo Day – Tuesday 29th May 2018 2:00pm until 6:00pm

I’m pleased to announce TaylorMade will be coming to Ely City Golf Club on Tuesday 29th May for a demo day. This is the perfect opportunity for you to try the latest technologies from one of the leading brands in golf as used by Justin Johnson, Rory Mcllroy, Tiger Woods, Justin Rose, Jason Day and many more. The demo day will run from 2:00 until 6:00 and appointments will be available with the TaylorMade representative using the latest Trackman technology.

Srixon Demo Day – Tuesday 19th June – 3:00pm until 7:00pm

We have now rescheduled the Srixon Demo Day and I’m pleased to say they will be coming to Ely on Tuesday 19th June from 3:00pm until 7:00pm. Srixon are well known for their superb golf balls, but did you know they also produce forged irons used by some of the leading tour professionals? If you would like to come and try the woods, fairways, hybrids or irons please contact us to book your appointment.

The easy way...

One way to hit the ball further is to swing faster, but more often than not this will harm your accuracy and your quality of strike. If you’ve been put off investing in a new driver because you’re worried that your swing needs some work, you’re needlessly missing out on lots of immediate benefits. In reality you needn’t worry about this problem, as modern drivers are very adjustable and allow us to re-optimise them to suit your new swing as regularly as necessary.

TaylorMade's M3 driver offers us the tools to do this thanks to its adjustable hosel and two sliding sole weights, which lets us fine-tune your spin and shot shape. While the TaylorMade M4 driver doesn’t have sole weights, it does share the same Hammerhead slot that allows the face to spring powerfully for effortless long distance.
