Look after yourself in the hot weather So far this summer we have been blessed with superb sunshine and temperatures of 28 and above for 16 consecutive days. I would just like to take this chance to give you all a little advice from my experiences of playing golf in hot temperatures like these while in Australia. Below are a few key points I always follow when playing in these conditions. 1: Stay Hydrated! Try to have a sip of water on every hole as the fluids you lose through sweat will make you dehydrated and effect your golf. 2: Wear a hat and sunglasses! To reduce the effect of the sun it’s important to wear a hat and to protect your eyes from UV rays by wearing sunglasses. 3: Sunscreen! We have all been burnt by the sun at some point, but the dangers now associated with the sun should make us all take better precautions. Always make sure you remember to put sunscreen on your ears as this is an area often forgotten about by many golfers. |
