Ely City Golf Club – Pro Am 2018

Our annual PGA Pro Am has grown again this year with 37 teams entered.

For all members who are playing please look through the list and make sure you know your tee time for the event. Bacon Rolls and coffee will be available before you play plus a two-course meal after your game. We have a superb prize table which includes PING G400 drivers, PING putters, PING golf bags plus more great prizes.

Get into Golf – NEW START DATE - Ladies taster golf sessions starting soon

Do you know any ladies who would like to come and give golf a try?

I am running a coaching programme to encourage more ladies to get into golf and hopefully become regulars. This is an ideal opportunity for ladies to learn how to play golf in a fun, no pressure environment with other beginner ladies. Every coaching session will be held on a Saturday from 12:00 until 1:00 with coffee/tea after in the clubhouse.

The lessons are £15 per person each week which includes refreshments in the clubhouse after.

A Golf holiday not to be missed with Paul and Andrew – Pestana Vila Sol - November 2018

Vila Sol also has top of the range leisure facilities on offer which include an outdoor heated swimming pool and two tennis courts. The hotel boasts two restaurants, the Green Pines and L’Olive Restaurant, both of which offer great Mediterranean cuisine. The excellent location means you are only five minutes away from the international marina in Vilamoura which has a number of bars and restaurants to enjoy.

Our aim of this trip is to give you the best experience possible while at Vila Sol. We will be putting on daily coaching to help you play better golf and we will also play at least nine holes with you during your holiday, so we can give you on course instruction and advice.

Here, there and everywhere

We are faced with a whole range of scenarios out on the course, some of which we practice regularly and others that we don’t. When you consider the different types of shots you hit around the greens, it really does highlight how versatile your wedges need to be.

Versatility is key
We ask a lot from our wedges, from opening up the face to hit high lob/flop shots to moving the ball back in our stance to play low flying pitches and everything in between. It’s therefore obvious that you should be playing something you’re comfortable with from any spot around the greens.
