Jamie and Emma
I have great pleasure to notify you all that on Saturday one of my assistant's Jamie became a father. Just after 9am on Saturday Jamie's partner Emma gave birth to Henry Charles LeBrun (8lbs 15oz). Both Emma and Henry are doing well and below you can see a picture of Jamie with Henry just moments after the birth.
Congratulations to the new Vice Captain
At the Captain Vs Vice Captain dinner the new Vice Captain was announced by Mick Munnelly. As you can see from the picture, the new Vice Captain is Alan Todd. From everyone here at the Pro Shop we are absolutely over the moon and would like to wish Alan all the best for the next two years.
Competition Results
Last Saturday it was the annual Captain vs. Vice Captain Match. This year members were invited to play for the Captain or Vice Captain in one of the highlights of the golfing year here at the golf club. The Captain's team came out on top with a winning margin of 11.5 - 4.5.
In the picture you can see the first match going out, from left to right Mark Smith, Mick Munnelly (Vice), Dave Woods (Captain) and Phil Hunter.
Hayter Trophy
On Monday 51 seniors competed for the Hayter Trophy in ideal autumn conditions. The course was playing tough however with only one senior playing under his handicap. Well done to Colin Spencer after his excellent round of 67 beating Nick Pallister (72) and Richard Shipp (72) by 5 shots.
Ryder Cup
This Friday the 40th Ryder Cup match will take place in Scotland at Gleneagles. I'm sure we will all be glued to the TV and marvel at the quality of golf on display. In the picture below you can see me with Ian and the Ryder Cup when I visited his home in Florida last year.
Brocket Hall Pro-Am
On Monday I was invited to play in the Brocket Hall Invitational Pro-Am held on the Palmerston course. In beautiful conditions I shot a 3 under par 70 to finish in a tie for 3rd place. This was my 8th competitive round under par and with the last order of merit event coming up I'm looking forward to extend my good run of form.
