Congratualtions to County Champion, Luke Ryan

Last weekend Ely City Golf Club hosted the CAGU County Championships in some very testing weather conditions. After the first day the field of 62 was cut to the leading 30 and ties and it was great to see 9 Ely members (Luke Ryan, Isaac Rowlands, Alfie Guy-Pinkney, James Mclaughlin, Ross Wilson, Shane Hornsey, Chris Nixon, Robert Setchell & Dale Isaacson) make it through to the final day.

With impressive scores of 75, 73, 71, 71 Luke Ryan was crowned the County Champion finishing just one shot ahead of Owen Davies (Brampton) and Paul Hodgkin (Ramsey). This is Luke’s second County title of the season as he also won the Foursomes Championship back in April.

Well done to all our greens staff too as the golf course received high praise all weekend with one of the competitors saying the course is in the best condition of any in the county!

Junior Academy Term 2

The Junior Academy will complete its first term this Saturday and it’s been great to have 20 keen youngsters taking part each week. Our second term will start again on Saturday 29th June and run through until Saturday 3rd August.

This term is designed to help prepare juniors for getting out onto the course including basic rules and etiquette. Many of the juniors from term one are already signed up for the next term so if you wish to join us don’t delay as spaces are limited.

Ely City Golf Club Pro Am - Tuesday 20th August 2019 - Enter your team NOW!

On Tuesday 20th August the Ely City Golf Club PGA Pro-Am will take place and it’s now open for entry. We have already had a few entries so if you are thinking about playing in this event this year don’t delay.

If you are interested or would like to play click here for the traditional entry form and we will do the rest. We would love to see lots of member’s teams at this day so check your diary now.

If you wish to enter the Pro Am the entry fees are:

Members £80 each / £240 a team & Non-members £90 / £270 a team.

The Ely City Golf Club PGA Pro Am has been a huge success over the years and is a must attend event for Professionals, members and non-members alike. To avoid missing out on this great event and being in with a chance to win some superb prizes please contact us as soon as possible.
