Weekend Starters
I would like to welcome Brian Ventures to the weekend Rangers for the next two years. Brian along with Roger Day, Fred Doughty and Eric Nixon will be on hand at the weekends between 7:00 and 11:30 to advise you where to start and keep a check on pace of play. Brian is one of our senior members here at the golf club (former Seniors Captain) and has a great understanding of the game so we feel he will be a real asset to the club. Please introduce yourself to Brian who will be working on alternate Sundays.
Do you know the next Rory or Tiger or Annika ???
Here at the Pro Shop we feel it's vital to keep the game growing by introducing as many juniors to the game as we can. During the spring and summer we hold weekly coaching sessions for members and non members alike, giving juniors the chance to experience golf in a fun environment. My assistant Jamie also runs junior golf days during school holidays for members and non members, which is another excellent opportunity for non members to spend the day at the golf club and see what we have to offer.
If you know of any juniors who may want to come along to a junior golf day or wish to join our group coaching sessions in the spring please let us know. On Saturday the 22nd November we are hosting a FREE coaching session of any juniors who want to get into golf. This is open to juniors who have never had a go at golf before so feel free to let friends and family know.
The coaching session will start at 10:30 and finish at 11:30. We will provide all of the equipment necessary for the hour so there's no need to worry about getting clubs etc. All we ask is that you notify us in advance that you will be coming. To let us know CLICK HERE, or give us a call on 01353 663317 or come into the Pro Shop to sign up.
BEWARE
Now the weather is turning the golf course can be a dangerous place if you aren't careful. Grass banks can become very slippery so please be careful when walking around the golf course. Modern soft spikes can easily become clogged up with mud and grass so it's worthwhile checking them regularly and use a tee peg to remove any built up grass/mud.
