Seniors Open Championship 2019

Last week I qualified to play in my 4th Seniors Open Championship after finishing second in the pre-qualifier held at Hillside. The Championship was held at Royal Lytham and St Annes and this was the first time I've played the course and I have to say it really is superb.

Unfortunately, I didn't make the cut, however, some highlights of my time at the Open included spending time with Fred Couples on the range and getting to meet Tom Watson at his last Seniors Open Championship.

I would like to thank everyone who sent me messages of good luck and it makes me incredibly proud to represent Ely City Golf Club at the highest level.

Golf Pride Grip Fitting Day - Saturday 10th August

Would you like a FREE grip on your 7 iron?

Well, I have organised for Golf Pride, the number 1 golf grip company, to come along to Ely so members can have a FREE grip put on their 7 iron.

Part of the process is to have your grip size measured to find out the perfect size to help you play your best golf. There’s no need to book an appointment, just turn up on the morning of Saturday the 10th August to have your 7 iron regripped for FREE.

Odyssey Stroke Lab Putters - NOW IN STOCK

If you watched The Open Championship last weekend you will have seen Shane Lowry using an Odyssey Stroke Lab putter which helped him claim his first Major Championship.

I’m pleased to say we have now taken delivery of our Stroke Lab putters and we welcome members to come along and try them on the putting green to feel the difference.

These putters are revolutionary in their design with a shaft made from steel and graphite helping to reduce the weight by 40%.

This weight is then moved into the head and the grip to give you a very stable putter that is easy to use and promotes a consistent tempo. All in all, helping you hole more putts and lower your scores.

Enjoy 18 holes with a PGA Professional when you enter the Ely City Golf Club Pro-Am – 20th August

The Ely City Golf Club PGA Pro-Am has been a huge success over the years and is a must-attend event for professionals, members and non-members alike. We would love to see lots of member’s teams supporting this event so check your diary now and keep the Tuesday 20th August free.

Each year our prize table gets better and better and this year will be no exception. We have already had several entries so if you are thinking about playing in this event don’t delay. If you are interested or would like to play click here for the traditional entry form and we will do the rest.

A ball for every occasion

Let’s be honest: we're greedy when it comes to our golf ball, and rightly so. We don’t want to have to choose between distance or feel; instead, we want a ball that offers us the lot.
