This coming Monday I will be flying to Portugal to play in the European Senior Tour School qualifying tournament. There are two stages to the qualifying school; firstly, I will be competing at Vila Sol Golf Club against 50 other seniors. There are three first stage courses in total each with 50 players playing for just 18 places to progress into the final stage. The final stage sees all of these qualifiers come together including around 20 players who are exempt from the first stage (this includes players who competed on the Seniors Tour during 2014 but lost their cards).
At this final stage there are just 6 fully exempt cards available plus 7 conditional cards. All being well I will play 6 rounds in the event plus practice rounds. I've been working hard on my game and have been practicing everyday in preparation for the event. It has been great to have so many members wishing me well and showing their support. I can't wait to get out to Portugal and represent Ely City Golf Club.
The list of brands keeps growing in 2015
I'm excited to announce that I will be stocking two new brands this year, Oakley and Druh Belts. Oakley are known for producing quality eye wear and lots of professionals use their products including, Ian Poulter, Adam Scott, Zack Johnson, Henrik Stenson and many more. I have been wearing Oakley sunglasses for over 20 years and I can't recommend them highly enough.
You will also see the addition of DRUH belts in the pro shop later this year. Druh's designs in classic black and browns and funky pastels and metallic's have fast become the professionals' style secret, with the likes of Lee Westwood, John Daly, Robert Karlsson, Paul McGinley and Thongchai Jaidee joining 100s of European and Asian Tour players, as well as LPGA and LET players, in choosing Druh belts.
Titleist 915 Demo's have arrived
Earlier this week I took delivery of two Titleist 915 demo drivers and two 915 demo fairway woods. The new 915 range is the most forgiving line of woods Titleist have ever produced thanks to the A.R.C. (Active Recoil Channel) in the sole of the clubs. When you combine this with the Radial Speed face insert the clubs produce low spinning, high launching tee and fairway shots.
If you are thinking of upgrading your clubs and want to try the 915 range please come along and see us in the Pro Shop.
Titleist launches the new Pro V1 & Pro V1 X for 2015
Titleist has pushed the technology boundary with the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x. The new balls deliver extraordinary distance and consistent flight. And there's more short game control, even softer feel and long-lasting durability. These will be available to purchase from the pro shop in the coming weeks.
