April Fool
On Tuesday I sent out an email detailing an exclusive offer on Footjoy DNA shoes and how they are as comfortable as your favourite slippers. To qualify for a free pair of DNA shoes you had to bring your slippers into the Pro shop for a promotional photo. I would like to say that this email was my April fool and yes we did catch a few members out. We had one member explain how he doesn't own any slippers so he was going to buy a pair and then come to the Pro shop. The star of the day though goes to Mark Featherstone who was an incredibly good sport for letting us take this picture and to the right you can see Mark and myself, check his footwear. Mark said "The guys in the shop completely had me and I thought it was a great April fool".
Pro Am
On Friday the 22nd of August we are holding the annual PGA East Region Ely City Pro Am. If you would like to enter a team or sponsor a hole please contact me here or come along to the pro shop. We have already had teams enter the event so don't leave it too late before you enter yours.
Charity Cheque Presentation
On Wednesday last year's ladies Captain, Terry Robinson, was on hand to present a cheque to the East Anglian Air Ambulance as they were the charity of choice for 2013. Ely City members helped raise £8840.99 for the East Anglian air ambulance, well done to you all and thank you for your generosity.
PING Karsten TR putters
We now have a full selection of PING Karsten TR putters in stock. These putters really are creating a storm. We even had a fellow Professional golfer stop by this week to purchase one. Come along to the pro shop to find out more and try them.
